Fair Housing Statement

The LAAA Team at Marcus & Millichap is committed to the letter and spirit of fair housing law. We support and promote equal housing opportunity for all people regardless of protected status.

Equal Housing Opportunity

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.

Federal Fair Housing Act

The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on:

  • Color
  • National origin
  • Religion
  • Sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity)
  • Familial status
  • Disability

California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA)

California law provides additional protections beyond federal law. Under FEHA and the Unruh Civil Rights Act, discrimination in housing is also prohibited based on:

  • Sexual orientation
  • Gender identity and gender expression
  • Marital status
  • Ancestry
  • Source of income
  • Genetic information
  • Primary language
  • Immigration status
  • Arbitrary discrimination (Unruh Civil Rights Act)
